The manual manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and joints, with the purpose of enhancing a person’s health and well-being. It is a therapeutic modality performed by trained and licensed practitioners and is used as part of integrative health care to promote relaxation, reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, alleviate pain, and support the body's natural healing processes.

Massage therapy techniques may include, but are not limited to:

* Effleurage (long, gliding strokes)
* Petrissage (kneading of muscles)
* Friction (deep circular movements)
* Tapotement (percussive tapping)
* Vibration
* Myofascial release
* Trigger point therapy
* Lymphatic drainage

**Clinical indications for massage therapy include**: musculoskeletal pain (e.g., neck, shoulder, and back pain), muscle tension or spasm, sports-related injuries, stress-related disorders, tension headaches, and circulatory disturbances.


Acupuncture needles only

Dr. Min Lu, a graduate of an accredited acupuncture program, is currently licensed to practice as an Acupuncturist in the State of Maryland. With traditional Chinese medicine family background, she started to became serious in studying and practicing Chinese medicine during the 2008 Olympic games when she saw the urgent need to relieve physical pain from sports activities, not only for the athletes but also for people in general. With many years of acupuncture experience both in China and in the US, Min Lu has obtained good knowledge of the history and development of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the knowledge of theoretical concepts necessary to the practice of acupuncture, including Yin/Yang, five elements, fundamental body substances such as Jing, Qi, and Shen, in additional to the knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology, basic pathology related to the acupuncture. Dr. Lu is learning from Prof Biqin Wang (famous TCM gynaecologist in Beijing, China),and now is the member of Prof. Guo Zhiqiang’s National Inheritance Studio focusing on infertility, ovarian dysfunction, polycystic ovary syndrome, menstrual disease, menopausal syndrome, pelvic inflammatory disease, vulva leukoplakia and other gynecological diseases treatment and postnatal care, etc; With formal training in acupuncture and the completion of a professional educational program in a clinical health care specialty in the USA, she also has current CPR Certification and CNT license certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
